Senior Security Specialist [Belgium]


 
The Senior Security Specialist is reporting to the Head of Security Benelux & France (HOS).. The Senior Security Specialist is indirectly/ functionally managing the Local Security Nominees, LSN’s (who have an assigned task to support the DHL Supply Chain Security organization in implementation of security programs and standards and to provide assistance in investigation and training) and the Aviation Security Managers (Air Freight Security Officer – Air Freight Security Advisors) at the assigned locations in the Benelux.

Your new position as Senior Security Specialist BENELUX
The Senior Security Specialist is responsible for the implementation and improvement of the DHL Supply Chain Security standards in the Benelux. This applies to customer’s goods, employees, buildings and transportations.
  • Provide guidance to DHL Supply Chain’s operations and management

    Monitoring and increasing the value of DHL Supply Chain by leading investigations into all Security related incidents. Identifying the (root) causes and taking measures to prevent recurrence, and to ensure that direct and indirect damage is limited.
  • Ensure that DHL Supply Chain can use all necessary and available tools to track the goods and shipments and apply needed legal sanctions.
  • Giving advice, providing support by analyzing, identification and implementation of security programs, systems and procedures.
  • Proactively advising (local) management on personnel, facility and goods security.
  • First point of contact in case of incidents that affects the DHL Supply Chain organization.
1. Accompany employees
  • Provides functional support in the field of aviation and transport security to operational and cluster management.
  • Ensures DHL Supply Chain Benelux compliance with all relevant and country regulations related to aviation security.
  • Acts on base of his professional expertise as a source of information for employees ( Aviation security managers, LSN’s, local management) Assesses their work and gives feedback.
  • Identifies gaps in knowledge/ skills and processes and takes initiatives to improve these gaps; Makes proposals to improve.
  • Coordinates the work of LSN’s, sets priorities and distributes activities/ tasks.
2.Investigate incidents and advise
  • Analyzing data and processes regarding security and advising various departments about this.
  • Conducts investigations regarding irregularities in the application of company policy and criminal law
  • Identifies, initiates, implements and checks compliance of the programs according to the applicable guidelines
  • Advises about proactive security standards to limit illegal and/or unauthorized access to infrastructure and transports
  • Conducts periodic consultations with regional (local) management
3. Monitoring the quality of security processes
  • Provides support to the Security department.
  • Using security knowledge to keep the business processes secure
  • Checks the performance of security services in subcontracting, escalates internally if necessary to achieve contractually agreed standards. Is monitoring the follow up.
  • Performs regular, well organized internal audits, accompany external government and customer’s audits and ensures that correct (corrective) measures are being implemented
  • Creates and maintains security awareness within the organization and provides training on the job

What DHL Supply Chain is looking for
  • Relevant Master or Bachelor degree in Security Sciences/Criminology (is a plus) or proven experience in the field of security and/or supply chain.
  • Private investigator license
  • Specific aviation security certification is a must ( or mandatory to obtain within first 6 months of employment)
  • Knowledge of data protection legislation, criminal law and sector certifications (TAPA, AEO, ISO28000 etc.)
  • Written and oral communication skills in Dutch and English
  • Analytical ability to carry out investigations into irregularities and poor performance.
  • Accurate in monitoring the correct application of regulations and legislation.
  • Planning and organizational ability and result-oriented, in order to optimize organizational, personnel and budgetary processes.
  • Social skills such as motivation, stimulation and negotiation skills.
