Powertrain Systems Engineer (Kortrijk, BE)


 

Traxial is looking for a Systems Engineer to join our rapidly growing team. You will be taking responsibility for the definition of system requirements, verification and validation activities of our axial flux motor and different inverters. Furthermore, you will support the Power Electronics team during electric drives development cycle.

This is what you’ll do:

  • Define system and sub-system specifications through active research and engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform system modeling simulations to define optimal systems trade-offs at EDU (electric drive unit) level.
  • Develop optimal control strategies through simulations (MATLAB, Simulink) and validate them at test bench.
  • Review external inverter designs from suppliers and ensure integration with the Traxial system.
  • Plan and execute inverter + motor parametrization phase at test bench when using a new DUT.
  • Develop our Traxial inverters together with your power electronics colleagues.
  • Work closely with the test department to develop test plans and procedures for verifying requirements and validating the product (ASIL rated).

Who are we looking for?

  • Master's degree in Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, Aerospace engineering or equivalent through experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with system modeling (MatLab, Simulink, Modelon, etc.) for the automotive/aerospace industry
  • Proficiency in Python and LabVIEW preferred.
  • Capable of problem-solving and debugging electrical systems and measurements.
  • Strong knowledge of power electronics devices and electrical motors.
  • Strong English communication skills (both written and verbal), good collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively across teams within the organization.
